Settings

The Wedge Pattern Scanner groups its settings by function. This page covers the behavioral settings; all colors, text sizes, and table position are independently customizable.

Symbols

SettingDefaultWhat It Controls
Symbol slots 1–2010 enabledWhich instruments are scanned; each slot has an enable toggle
Use Advanced symbol listOffAccepts a comma- or newline-separated list of up to 20 tickers for batch updates

Default watchlist: NQ1!, ES1!, YM1!, GC1!, SI1!, CL1!, EURUSD, BTCUSDT.P, NVDA, GOOG.

Detection

SettingDefaultWhat It Controls
Use Log ScaleOnMeasures trendline slope on a logarithmic price scale for instrument-agnostic accuracy
Size 1 / Max Length7 / 200Primary swing scale and its maximum wedge length
Size 2 / Max Length14 / 200Second swing scale (toggle), adds a column pair
Size 3 / Max Length21 / 250Third swing scale (toggle), adds a column pair

Detection sizes must be entered in ascending order. Smaller sizes surface frequent, shorter wedges for intraday work; larger sizes surface structural wedges for swing trading.

Risk %1.0Percentage of account size risked per trade

Alerts & Custom Message

The Alerts group toggles the six alert types and the Custom Alert Message (webhook JSON). See Alerts for the full setup.

Styling

Styling presets (Dark, Light, Custom), table position (nine chart corners), text sizes, exchange-name display, and an optional memory-limit footer note are all configurable. All cell and header colors are independently customizable.

Tuning to Your Style

Enable only the detection scales you trade. Fewer enabled scales and fewer symbols both reduce the scanner's memory footprint, which matters most in replay mode.

FAQ

How do I change which symbols the Wedge Pattern Scanner watches?

The Wedge Pattern Scanner has 20 symbol slots in the Symbols group, each with an enable toggle. 10 are filled and enabled by default. For batch updates, turn on the Advanced symbol list and paste a comma- or newline-separated list of up to 20 tickers.

What detection sizes does the Wedge Pattern Scanner use by default?

The Wedge Pattern Scanner enables three detection scales by default, at swing sizes 7, 14, and 21. Sizes must be entered in ascending order. Each scale has its own maximum pattern length and adds its own Long/Short column pair to the table.

What are reverse breakouts in the Wedge Pattern Scanner?

By default the Wedge Pattern Scanner tracks classic breakouts: rising wedges resolving down, falling wedges resolving up. Turning on Reverse Breakout additionally tracks counter-direction breaks, so bullish breaks out of rising wedges and bearish breaks out of falling wedges also appear.
